Aqua Therapy for Rehabilitation and Treatment

We use water as a therapeutic tool to treat different conditions, maintain health, relieve discomfort and promote physical well-being.

Patients will benefit per and post-operative as well as post and pre-injury as the water reduces your weight due to the buoyancy of the water. This allows us to re-educate walking patterns and help patients to regain the strength and movement of the body faster than would be possible on land. It also proves an ideal platform for our younger and senior citizens to exercise without a risk of injury, as well as a platform for passive therapy for all types of spinal conditions.

Aqua therapy is used:

  • To rehabilitate neurological patients, including traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries

  • To assist with pain management for those with conditions such as multiple sclerosis and muscular dystrophy

  • To rehabilitate sports injuries by strengthening muscles and increasing range of movement

  • To address conditions common among elderly people, including lower back pain, weakness of arms and legs, balance and walking patterns

The benefits of aqua therapy include:

  • Promotes functional mobility

  • Promotes lumbar stabilization

  • Improves balance

  • Helps to regain trunk stability, range of motion, strength, and endurance

  • Promotes ambulation, sitting and standing balance

  • Encourages safety and confidence

We also offer aqua therapy group classes. Your first class is free!
